Description
Spanish minted cob coins were widely circulated throughout the 16th-18th centuries and are remembered for their crude, hand-struck and hand-trimmed production style. They were the original gold and silver rounds and were referred to by many (most famously pirates) as pieces of eight” or “doubloons”. The Omnia 1-oz silver bullion round is the Scottsdale Mint’s tribute to the classic design. Instead of being hand-struck like the originals.
